COLE Exploring Shared OER Platforms for OK Higher Ed

The Council for Online Learning Excellence (COLE) open educational resource (OER) subcommittee has been planning for a statewide open education strategy to be finalized over summer 2020. As part of this strategy, the committee has been evaluating OER development platforms that would allow faculty across multiple institutions to collaborate on textbook projects and offer zero-cost course materials to students. The co-chairs of the COLE OER, Kathy Essmiller of OSU Stillwater and Marla Lobley of East Central University, have made a formal recommendation on behalf of COLE to the Online Consortium of Oklahoma for funding of a shared platform for its 25 member institutions.
