OneNet and COLE Partner to Offer VR Toolkits

Posted in

Oklahoma institutions are invited to participate in an exciting new partnership between OneNet and the Council for Online Learning Excellence (COLE) to explore production of virtual reality (VR) learning resources.

Beginning spring 2021, OneNet initiated a pilot project partnership with Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SEOSU) to support the development and hosting of dozens of virtual reality modules.  Using a 360-degree GoPro camera and Adobe Captivate VR production software, Southeastern faculty, staff, and student workers explored areas such as lab sciences, choir performance, and occupational safety.  These traditional classroom spaces came alive in the online environment through VR.

OneNet and COLE are now working together to expand this opportunity to other state system institutions.  Interested institutions may submit a request to check out VR production toolkits from OneNet on an as-available basis.  Once toolkits are awarded and content produced, it will be made available for reuse, modification, and adaptation through Creative Commons licensing.  This is just one of many ways Oklahoma institutions are leading the way in advanced technologies and open education!
